Limbo

Limbo, the new collection by Aniele Stroz, is inspired by the suspended hour of the Mediterranean afternoon.

It takes its cue from a phenomenon found across southern Europe - what the Spanish call la hora muerta, the dead hour. Between two and five, the shutters come down, the streets empty, and time itself seems to stop moving forward. In this pause there is no shame - only a quiet acceptance that not every hour must be productive, not every moment must lead somewhere. It becomes a metaphor for the human condition: still yet alive, uncertain yet present, caught between what was and what will be.

The pieces reflect this contrast. Loose, drifting silhouettes float around the body like a deferred decision, while structured shoulders and precise tailoring hold their ground against the softness. Sheer cottons and scattered polka dots evoke heat haze on a white wall - patterns that almost dissolve in the light. Ribbons left untied, raw seams left exposed: garments suspended between finished and unfinished.

The colors echo a courtyard at midday: bleached white, washed sky-blue, the deep black of a long shadow, with single notes of red at the throat and green at the cuff - small signals from somewhere outside the room.

Limbo is not only about waiting - it is about the dignity of the in-between, and about the quiet strength of those who refuse to rush a decision they are not yet ready to make.
